We print our drug-eluting implants using Desktop Health's Bioplotter. Desktop Health is so enthusiastic about us using their printer system to make our patient-specific implants that they made a video about it. The video describes the production of an implant for the external auditory canal used for a customized healing trial for a patient at the MHH ENT clinic [...].
Our doctoral students Chunjiang Wei and Yanjing Luo have each won a poster prize at Additive Manufacturing Meets Medicine 2023 in Lübeck. Congratulations to them! Their work was about our development of round window niche implants: "Development of a 3D-printed round window niche implant for controlled cochlear pharmacotherapy" and "Development of a biodegradable round window niche implant (RNI) for patient-specific drug delivery for inner ear therapy".
